Colby Form, Fill & Seal Systems
Colby realises that the retail packaging needs of our clients are not
limited to cans and other rigid containers, so we have also developed fully
integrated filling line systems to produce flexible form, fill and seal retail
packs.
Like our can-filling lines, Colby systems for producing flexible packs meet
the highest standards of sanitation, accuracy and reliability. Our systems,
however, extend well beyond the actual form-fill and seal machines.
Colby flexible packing systems cover everything from bulk handling to
transportation of product between every stage in the form, fill and seal
process.
We can pre-gas, sieve, blend and gas-flush powders prior to dosing and
sealing. After each pack is sealed, its weight is checked to ensure it conforms
to the relevant specifications.
The control system constantly monitors pack weight and uses trend control to
maintain accurate filling, via a checkweigher. The pack can then be placed into
a retail carton or directly into a shipping carton. The shipping carton is then
closed, printed and palletised ready for dispatch.
