GEA Reinforces its Brand Base as a Firm Foundation for the Future
GEA Powder Systems, the powder handling and packaging business unit of the GEA Group, is pleased to announce that from September 30th, 2010 it is consolidating Albro, a manufacturer of retail powder filling systems, into its core technology centre in Hamilton, New Zealand.
In a further move to strengthen the brands and enhance their efficiency and potential even further, Dico cappers and Gravfil liquid filling systems are to be fully integrated into Precision Engineering.
Established in 1961 and based in Kent, Precision Engineering has become the United Kingdom's leading supplier of innovative bespoke solutions for many different types of applications. Rick Aitchison, Operations Manager of Precision Engineering, commented, "We view it as an excellent opportunity to expand and develop the Dico and Gravfil product range and feel they are a good fit for our current business model."
These moves are the result of many months of deliberation between the different parties to ensure the best possible outcome for all concerned.
A number of important benefits will apply to all of the brands and their customers with immediate effect. These include:
- Expertise from Albro will be transferred to New Zealand where all retail filling technology will be engineered.
- Experts from Dico and Gravfil will combine with those at Precision Engineering to enhance and further develop the business.
- All European sales, aftersales, service and spares support for Albro will be provided from the European Centre at GEA Process Engineering NL, as has been successfully conducted with Avapac and Colby for the past seven years.
- All global sales, aftersales, service and spares support for Dico and Gravfil will be provided by Precision Engineering's headquarters in the UK.
- GEA will continue to work together with Precision Engineering for the provision of components and spare parts for new and existing equipment.
